This self-directed project is a scientific illustration of Triplofusus giganteus, the horse conch native to Florida’s coastal waters. Combining my passion for illustration with a personal connection—my grandparents spend winters in Florida—I chose this shell for both its natural beauty and sentimental value. The piece reflects a blend of scientific accuracy and artistic interpretation, capturing the intricate form of a species tied to a region that holds meaning in my family’s story.
